Welcome to my website

This website provides an impression of the drawings and paintings I have made since 1988. In several exhibitions I have shown my work. I feel it is important that people come to see my work. If their opinion is positive or negative is less important.

During my education and training I have learned a lot about making and using colours and pigments. But the bare technical approach of colours was uninspiring. The feeling was gone. I wrote at that time: "It's not fair that colours present themselves as happy, joyous. They deceive the image and steal from the content."

My paintings usually don't have a frame. Frames are not important to me. I'm not a perfectionist. I work messily. If a hair from my brush or one of my own falls into the paint, I leave it there.

Art can be a tiny line on a square meter canvas. What counts is if the line is right and in the right spot. Maybe that is the hardest part: to put a line in the right spot.. What I feel is the right spot.
